Hello!

The last few weeks have been quite busy for us in Korea. We have had and International day here at Ajou when we represented Sweden together with other exchange students from our beloved country. There were lots of preparations and we made a typical swedish dish, the sandwich cake, it was a big success! We also ordered some “surströmming” but it did not arrive on time, maybe we were lucky? That was a great day and we could experience about 40 other countries cultures and food.

After that the autumn have come to Korea as well. Some day it can be around 0 degrees and freezing and the next day it could be 20 and sunny. So as you can imagine, Korea is a land of changing weathers. But it is still beautiful and we keep enjoying as much as possible before we leave. Right now we are planning a trip to DMZ, the borderline between South and North Korea.

As I wrote in the headline there not much time left. We got our final exams in mid december so right now we are busy studying so that we may complete the courses that we are taking here at Ajou University. This far it has been a great experience to study abroad and it is something that we are going to bring with us.

Stay tuned

Viktor & Gustav

We have been quite busy the last days because of the midterm exams, been to the library a couple of times. The system is a bit different from the swedish one because we have to study for all the courses we have at the same time. We’ve managed it so far so thats not going to be a problem. It’s nice to try this way of studying, another experience to add to the collection.

Today (saturday) we had a class at 10:00 Am so you can tell it is really getting closer to the exam. Next week is all the midterm exams so no classes, but we have to study for three exams and two essays so there is still work to do.

Right now we need to get back to our textbooks after this short break

See you later

This week is all abou studying, we have midterms next week plus a case report that we are going to hand in tomorrow. so we are studying hard to do as well as we can.

yesterday we took a studybreak and went to stadium that is located 10 min walk from our school. It was qulificationmatch between South korea- united arab emirates. Kore won the match with 2-1. I think that we were almost 20 person from school that went there. Today we had 2 classes and in between the classes we have been trying to solve the case that is really hard but we hope that we willl to well s that we can discuss it in class tomorrow.

This weekend has been calm cause Gustav has beeing sick. But he has managed to go to Seoul on saturday to see a show called Nanta.

The musical has a simple back story of three cooks attempting to finish preparing a wedding banquet within a strict time limit while the manager installs his incompetent nephew among the kitchen staff. The show involves acrobatics, magic tricks, comedy, pantomime and audience participation. The unifying element throughout the musical is the use of traditional Korean samul nori music, which in this case in performed with improvised instruments, such as cutting boards, water canisters and kitchen knives. The performance is almost completely non-verbal. The very few words which are spoken are in English.

The show was great and it´s alot of fun!

Today, sunday, we have bee to the shoppingmall to buy some clothes because it starting to get colder here so we both needed some new pants.  And the shopping trip was really good and we both found the things we wanted. Tomorrow we have classes all day so all the homeworks are done so we are ready to go to the class in the morning.

See you!

Today was the first day in school after beeing in HongKong from Thursday-Tuesday. It was me, Gustav, and 12 other friends from school that went there. It was an amazing city that had a lot to offer. And for me it was extra special and i was really happy to be able to go there bcause my grandparents used to live there and my mom and dad got married in HongKong so i was able to see that for the first time. The city is great for both shopping and seightseeing and there are a places to go for both really rich peoples and for  others so it a city that i would recommend.

So today is a schoolday and we have to classes and for the second one we are going to have a presentation about social networks so the powerpoint is done so now se are ready to talk about both facebook and twitter.

Gustav

Today I’ve had two classes, Korean Language and Marketing Management. Soon I’ll go the my last for this day and this week, because this weekend is a korean holiday and we’ll have ha longer break from school. Gustav has already left actually, he’s going to Hong Kong and will stay there until tuesday next week. I will stay in Korea and I’ve planned a trip to Seoul to do some shopping and experience the nightlife. We had also talked about going to DMZ, the border between South and North Korea.

The weather today is quite bad, it has rained all day. But I don’t think there’s nothing to complain about ’cause so far the weather has been great here in Korea! Around 25-30 degrees every day so far, but it feels like the temperature is dropping a bit. We’ll see!

That’s it for now,

See you later!

It´s friday and the schoolweek is over, even though we have no classes on friday. This weekend are we gonna spend in Gyeong-Ju together with all the other exchangestudents. The Office of international affaris has arranged a fieldtrip. So we are going to se alot during two days and visit famous castles and then have some supriseparty in the evening so it´s going to be fun to see what´s going to happend. The only sad thing is that we have to study for a test on monday during the weekend. It´s a korean test and it´s gonna be fun too see if we have learned some words.

Viktor and Gustav

We started the morning at 9 am with the course organizational behavior, a really good course with a great professor, you´re never bored in his class. We are divided in to smaller learningscells with 4 in each group and during the class we do get diffrent topics to discuss first in the group and then with the rest of the class, today we talked about values. After the first class we had 15 min break before the next class, that is korean. A fun course that is for us exchangestudents, they are trying to learn us how to speak basic korean. And then there was lunch, and as always we ate at one of the schoolcafeterias, it cost max 18kr so it´s great for the wallet. At 1.30 pm Viktor started his next course and Gustav was free til the afternoon when both of us have the pricing and sales promotion course. So on his spare time he fixed all the papers and articles we need for one course. The pricing and sales promotion course is a course with 5 grouptasks, midterm, finalexam so our first grouptask is gonna be done til monday so we studies hard to get a good grade.

Tomorrow are there no classes for us so we´ll probably go to the gym for some workout and then down to the shoppingmalls for some shopping.

Gustav & Viktor

We have now been in Korea for three weeks and we’re starting to adapt to this life of studying in another country. As we wrote in the last post we had some problem with the courses but that’s fixed now and we got courses like “Korean Language”, “organizational behavior” and “pricing and sales promotion”.

Tonight Viktor is going to play soccer with the international team of Ajou University. It’s an tournament at the school that begins today so we have to win!!

After that we’re going to Seoul for the weekend to do some sightseeing and shopping. I’ll tell you how it was in the next post.

’til then, take care!

Viktor and Gustav

We have been here in Korea for almost 3 weeks now and everything is good and we are getting in to the school system better for every day that goes. We had some problems the first week with our couse registrations but we solved it the past week.

Today we are going to go to Seoul, we studies in Suwon that is a city 40 min from Seoul. This weekend is a national holiday in Korea, it´s thanksgiving. So we ar free ´til wednesday. So we have been to the beach from Friday-Saturday.

Today there is almost 30 exchange students who are going to Seoul for some seightseeing and we´ll stay till tomorrow. And then is the plan to go to some amusmentpark tomorrow or on Tuesday but one thing is for sure and that is that we are gonna use this free days to do as much things as possible.
